Tuesday morning
11:27
Checking out of our hotel. Stopped for coffee at S.A. Weather sucks. FOG FOG FOG. About 40 degrees. Very lite sprinkle, calm winds. Heavy heavy fog. Visibility less than 100 yards. On our way to the Grand Portage-32 miles from G.M. to the National Monument.
12:13
Entered the Grand Portage Indian Reservation-at this point we have more pictures of wild life then ourselves.
12:53
I'm 6 miles from the Canadian border!!! Now, I'm a 1/2 mile away...stopped at G.P.S.P. Hiked 95 miles up and down rough terrain. Actually, only about 5, but it felt like 95.
Thought we were going to die! Saw moose poop, bear and wolf tracks. Heard grouse and a huge woodpecker. Now that we're safe were starving!!
5:00
fog has lifted on our way home to eat!!! Snacking on chips, salsa, guac.,
Fist sun we've seen in days!...through the fog.
Blue sky! Sun!
Nanaiboujou was closed :( Open mid-May-mid-October. We are very disappointed and still very hungry.
6:17
Headed straight to Blue Fin!
6:28
Scott started on his 2nd energy drink. The first one tasted like urine. 40 degrees. (The second one taste worse) No more Rock Star brand. Fog is heavy, rather spotty on HWY. In-land lots of sun and blue sky.
6:58
Arrived at Blue Fin
YIPPEE
Went out to eat at Blue Fin Grill. Scott had the lake trout with a salad. I had the rib-eye steak with tomato basil soup. Both meals came with broccoli, carrots and amazing mashed potatoes. Came back to the room, started up the jacuzzi. Played a game of Skip-BO, Scott won.
