reflection

as im going through the four giant bins of baby clothes a good friend from church gave me, i keep thinking to myself...this baby better be a boy (gender identification isnt 100% until the baby is born)...which brings me back to the day of our 20 week ultrasound.

My mother was able to come down, in the middle of a very busy week, to see her first grandchild on the "big" screen. it was such a happy morning. We got to the hospital, registered and waited. Mom of course found a few familiar faces and had to stop and chat. We ended up interrupting her conversation to have the anticipated u/s preformed.

We were back in the room where we first saw our baby 11 weeks earlier. With a full bladder and butterflies in my stomach it didnt take long for the tech to find him and his little boy parts. I was surprised how obvious his parts were. I thought one had to know what they are looking at to be able to distinguish anything...

im sure Scott was on fire with pride for his son. Mom was amazed at the technology...baby flipped and turned liked mad. Only stopping for a few seconds to let the tech do her job. She explained what she was doing, what we were looking at and all the stats in between of all the different body parts. She took and printed 7 too many photos for us to dote upon. It was great! I wish I remembered to ask about 3D u/s and if CMC offers them.

i am so glad my mom was able to see that. what an experience that was for her.

it was an amazing experience for all of us!
